HONEY BALSAMIC SALAD DRESSING FROM THE BALD EAGLE AREA FFA
The idea of the Hometown Honey Vinaigrette began when Agriculture classes at Bald Eagle Area School District started to grow lettuce in a hydroponics lab.
Finding it was bitter, due to a lack of natural light, they decided they needed a sweet dressing to complement it. Thinking creatively, they created a honey-based prototype for a luncheon, and everyone loved it.
One of the key ingredients, honey, was produced in a student’s apiary with bees foraging on plants throughout the local community.
From scaling up the recipe to helping source a local oil vendor, (Susquehanna Mills), the partnerships have been a wonderful learning experience for the students. After all this hard work, they created the dressing you can now purchase at Martin’s Feed Mill and various other stores within the Penns Valley area.

Great people, great service.
Just started using the Kalmbach chicken feed. I could see a difference when I opened the first bag. Not going back to the old feed.
We’ve been happy with the great service we get from everybody at Martin’s. They also provide solid advice regarding feeds for your needs and they are knowledgeable about the products they sell. Our orders arrive in a timely manner and the delivery driver is also friendly and courteous. A great company business!
